Hi Everyone,
I guess a lot of people are busy packing up for the Everest season about this time. I'm not sure if the problems in Nepal are having an impact. ENews is saying that they are going back to the North side to look for evidence of M&I above the Second Step. Otherwise, I am not aware of any specific search as yet.
I had a funny experience a couple of weeks ago at a meeting in San Antonio. It was the next to last day and I was wandering through the exhibit hall when all of a sudden this man whizzed past me. It took me a minute to take in the fact that his arm was amputated at about the elbow and he had a bit of a distinctive nose and then it hit me - Beck Weathers! I keep looking for him after that but never saw him again. but then I wasn't sure what I would say to him if I did run into him again. But I came away feeling a bit frustrated. When I think back I guess we really were a bit obsessed a few years back and how do you explain that to someone whose ordeal was a major basis? But at least I would asked him how he was doing and wished him well.
Best regards,
Rose
