Kids in one of the classes I was subbing for were reading "Into The Wild" and watching the movie. Idealism vs. Reality. Castles in the air... Mind over matter or mind as matter. Those of us who love nature, wilderness...the wild, must love it because it doesn't care. It's rules run deep - to the core of life, and to know those rules and abide by them, makes us more alive - even if the sign-on costs us our life.
