Boulder Bob: Interesting for you to notice the Hassayampa river is flowing. They've had so much rain in Arizona this year that this river is flowing above ground for the first time in years, although it is always flowing underground. I took this to be a very lucky thing! :-) One of the locals told me they might not see it flowing for another 10 years.

Hey magoo - Yes, about a foot and a half here - but it will be gone quick. I see from your pics that there is water in the dessert.

Hi jean - I haven’t been downhill skiing in a while but Copper was a favorite spot. I feel bad that you always have to travel to Jackson and then CO.

Hi Tim, Bbob, Brucie, etc, etc. I’m around but have been on vac. Tried alpine skiing for the very first time. Was in your area Bbob; Copper Mtn. Enjoyed the experience a lot but comparing xcountry sking to alpine is like peaceful, quiet, alone vs. where is the party???? Then went up to WY to visit son who is living in a yurt. Quite nice. He spent the fall in Nepal climbing Ama Dablam and also did some rock climbing in Thailand. I have Longs Peak on the brain once again but may try something different. Hike in the Tetons first and then go over to CO that way I should be more acclimatized and ready for the slog up Longs. We’ll see how it works out. Quite the dump of snow Bbob.

Boulder Bob: How about that freak snow storm? Good thing you weren't in the mountains.

Hey coco - Welcome to the site. It isn't what it use to be but we are still able to stay in contact with each other. Everest season is here and things should pick up.

I have taken my first winter off from climbing in CO in about 7 years and I'm looking forward to getting back to 14K soon. It was 65 here yesterday but looking out the window right right I see 8 to 10 inches of snow.
