GWB "the teflon con" has done it again.

It's Black Wednesday for me.

If you oppose the war in Iraq, the only thing to do now is take it to the streets. Take it to Washington D.C.

a little over two hours before ga, in, ky, sc, va and vt polls close

Congratulations on your mini-marathon, Tim!

Welcome back Dave! I, too, lurk here far more than I post.

Thanks for the updated M&I information, Rose. I'd like to read that article.

And Terry, have tons of fun at Banff. We still haven't made it up for the festival but would like to one of these years.

And to all of you state-siders out there, get out today and VOTE!!

Hi Everyone,
Good to see you back, Dave. Sounds like you are busy. And Terry, thanks for the link to the Banff Festivals. Still haven't gotten there... ;-) The prize winning photos are wonderful and I can even view them from here.

For anyone who is interested in the M&I saga, there is a new five part article on mteverest.net (the link is just to the right)co-written by Jochen Hemmleb and Pete Poston. Pete is a regular on an M&I site that I frequent and has really gotten involved in the story. I haven't had a chance to read it but Pete and Jochen know as much about this as anyone. We have gone around and around on this and it seems that after all there is still reason to think they may have made the summit. Anyway, the committed are still out there trying to piece things together and Jochen and Pete have likely put together a good story.

Best regards,
Rose

Hi everyone,

Checking in for the first time in months - though I do lurk a few times a week. here. Well done to everyone's recent and past summer's climbs and adventures.

Ego-tourism? Actually, I see nothing worng in adventure racing although terms like ' extreme' sports are kinda exaggerated - after all, if it'sbeen filmed on TV, it's hard tpo picture it being too extreme ;-). That phrase's probably more suited to the incessant guided climbing with deluxe levels of support.... I've been rally busy grwoing the business this year , so less time for climbing. however, next year, I'll be offf in jan 2005 for a climb in South America andthen in summer 2005 for some new adventures. Stay tuned at the expeditions website http://www.everest.org.sg towards the end of Dec when I'll get a fresh expeditions ' chapter' page uploaded

Thanks Terry. Sounds like a great line-up at Banff--"Ego-tourism"--I love it. I remember watching the Eco-Challenge when it was on the South Island of New Zealand. Although no climbing was involved a billionaire CEO (I wonder how he got on the company team?) went around with a coil of rope over his shoulder. I'm sure he has a framed "action" photo behind his desk. Wonderful article in today's New York Times about a similar-type poser (on an aircraft carrier)--hopefully the attempts of Karl Rove to create mythology will backfire.
