It's taking me a bit to get the hang of this. Nothing new there. For a mission statement I thought maybe a more general theme, which mountaineering facilitates, but that isn't limited by, something like the quest for humankind's soul or some other mundane handle. Remember all those discussions on heroism and risk taking and what it means to be alive, or dead for that matter? I always liked the fact that we were about more than the play-by-play, headline chaser sect. There is a meaning to all of this and the shy, retiring demeanor didn't fit. We went after it and managed our own armchair style of risk in trying to come up with the essence of it all.
