This is rare air indeed and it feels just like being dropped off at base camp, though I don't really know what that feels like. I haven't been following much of anything these days, except the sun as it crosses the sky, and am looking forward to being back in the mainstream, when it comes to the alpine community that I've grown to love. Of course, putting this site on the map of "the mainstream" will take some doing. Any ideas for a mission statement, charter or theme would be a great place to start. What am I saying! Do you realize what a unique opportunity this is - to say anything, at least for the moment, and NOT be off topic!???

Anyway, it's great to be here!
