Summit Journal Chat

The spirit of Summit Journal Chat actually predates 1996, when a small cadre of climbing enthusiasts began a discussion on Outside Online. Our origin traces to the time when we first stood on two legs. The aftermath of those first steps has led us to question, but the answer is as elusive as ever. One thing seems certain – it’s not out there. It’s within and that provokes a wilderness, the likes of which we have rarely seen. Summit Journal Chat is a trek into that wilderness.

Dave, well said. But Outside is just what it is. That's why I watch the BBC news on our local public tv. At least we get some news around the world. I just love Fox news when they go around the world in 60 seconds. If that isn't the most arrogant piece of news coverage of the rest of the world!
I gave my son a subscription to the Alpinist. I think it is a great mag. Read several back issues while visiting him.
