Happy Canada Day! I swore off reading another mountaineering book, but Ken’s comments got me curious so I stopped at BN and bought The Beckoning Silence and yet another copy of Touching the Void with better pictures and an interesting epilogue written in 2003 re: the making of the film. Well, Simpson had me the very first page of Beckoning. Very well written and puts you right there sweating and fearful. It’s an excellent book.
