Rose - No I never did meet EV - It turns out that his Grays climb was during the Pikes Peak Ascent/Marathon weekend, so I was out of town
Tim; Kelso Ridge in December? - No. However, I have been on it in route conditions that are similar to December. Kelso in Dec could be difficult - but it's doable. My opinion is that the weather conditions will have more to do with you success than route conditions. The winds and cold and be brutal on that ridge in Dec. Do you remember when a guy ("The Bear") from FL came out here in Feb to climb with a guide who invited me along. He was preparing for a trip to Denali and the Kelso Ridge was the target. He was sick for two days and we couldn't get him past 11,800'. You wouldn't have that problem. If you have reasonable luck with weather you would have a shot.
