Geez, I'm in again.

Firstly on the Mac issue; I am forced to use one at work. The designers all rave in a beatific, Jonestown way about Macs, and their constant freeze-ups being just a personality flaw of the fine boxes. I personally have destroyed two by throwing them off my desk - I make it look like an accident.

As for Everest - yawn. Same gimmicks, same stories, too many goofballs having burned the media with expeditions in the past and a population that has moved on to other things like...

Sea kayaking! Thank Gawd, you people have finally discovered a real hairy-chested, manly-man sport. :-)

I'm heading for a week of paddling to the Broken Group Islands in Barkley Sound off Vancouver Island next week. Pretty cool trip actually, as the tour company (www.batstar.com you can read about the area there too) is working with the local native band to run tours to islands that have been off limits to paddlers till now. Lots of ancient sites to check out, stories to share etc.

Could our next SJC summit possibly be a paddlefest?

Carrie - know some folks who have done the Bowron circuit, I'll try to track them down and get some beta for ya.

PBob - GET WRITING!!!!!

Tim - Sorry i haven't emailed you yet. One of the best shoulder exercises I've found is to do push ups with one hand on the floor and the other on a soccer or similarly sized ball. Once you get the hang of that, do the push ups but now place your feet on a swiss ball.

Besides that LOAD UP ON THE ANAPROX before they take it off the market too.

Hi to everyone else!
