Hi Carrie,
That's great news! MSN has a big piece on EV. He was in the middle of his quest in '96 so it has been a long hall. I remember that his K2 summit was with Scott Fischer in '92- I think he said it was his scariest day in the mountains. And coming down he and Scott had to help Rob Hall with his stricken partner who died of HAPE a few months later. And Chantal Manduit needed help on the way down as well. So many ties to the people and events we have discussed here. Gosh, what does he do for an encore? Maybe just take it easy and enjoy life with his family.
