Funny, Mteverest.net points out that BS had taken all sorts of high tech video equipment with him and the Sherpas took photos of themselves at the summit but no one seems to have a photo of BS at the summit. Sounds pretty unusual. He was able to get a video clip from the Danish climber but not a still from his own Sherpas?
There are a number of ways one could legitimately handle an absence of a summit photo on one's web site when one summits. But to substitute someone else's without attribution is deceptive and when found out your veracity is going to take a hit. Maybe BS made a dumb mistake but with Everest and well documented instances of disputed summits by others, ya gotta know people are not going to give you the benefit of the doubt in this kind of situation. And instead of saying "Yeah, dumb mistake on my part to use that image" he comes out threatening lawsuits and invoking confidentiality agreements. That is not the way to convince anyone that it was an innocent misjudgment. Sounds like his reputation is going to take a big hit even if he did summit. And he only has himself to blame. jmo ;-)
Congratulations to BBob once again!
Best regards,
Rose
