If Everest News says he summitted, that's good enough for me ... they also state that he is "one of Canada's best motivational speakers." Impressive. [IS THAT SUFFICIENT? PLEASE DON'T SUE ME!]
Thanks for the Everest Net stuff, magoo--helps me out of the doldrums. Shoulder update: An MRI showed that the rotator cuff was intact, so I'm getting physical therapy, maybe it will be enough. Still very weak and the thought of pushing 50 meters of wet rope thru a belay device creates a more troubling picture of my physical (in)capacity than making a move on rock. It's one thing to screw yourself up, another thing entirely to screw up someone else.
