Hi All,
Here it is, Tuesday September 13th. It's seems like a million years have passed since Rose's post on the 3rd.
Hurricane Katrina and it's aftermath has left us all stunned and probably has kicked most of us into action. There's been a tremendous need for relief here in Texas. In Dallas, I think we have upwards of 150,000 people now. Every weekend there's been something to do. We know that folks can't stay in our country's stadiums much longer. Imagine sleeping in the same room with 1,000 others. I can't. It all so reminds me of one of my favorite movies, Empire of the Sun.
I wish the best for the people of New Orleans. I know they are all suffering. Their time is divided now - before Katrina and then after for the rest of their lives. I know N.O. will come back, it'll just take a little time. After that the folks will be peering down from the French Quarter - sayin' we told ya so :-), then invite everyone in for some great food and great music. It'll be bittersweet for a long time to come.
