I remember climbing a ridge (called the Kelso Ridge) that had a 4th class section - meaning that it requred hands and feet to keep from falling or serious injury. On my down climb of the ridge, when I reached that 4th class section I was unable to go down because a man and women were trying to get their dog up that section. The dog was to scared to go up. Then they said "well let's see if we can rope him up". I couldn't take it any more and I went down another way to get away from it. I notice that people just love to brag about how thier dog climbed this or that. Another time I saw a trail of blood spots for a mile in the snow up another peak - and it turned out to be from a dog.
