Hey Magoo -
Happy Saint Patty's Day!
It's ironic that, with Blogs more prevalent than ever, our little group remains so quiet. (Did the term "Blog" even exist back then?) If all one wanted was to fire off exchanges over the web, there's no lack of opportunity - but it wouldn't be the same. It's we that's changed. Our exuberance has been pruned. There was a time that celebrating St. Patrick's Day - well, it didn't get any better. But tonight - I'll be checking out National Geographic on T.V. and maybe have an I.P.A with my corned beef dinner. The nostalgia we feel is for the tension on the tiller in an uncertain wind. Now, those novel lessons have been internalized and its put the sun at our backs. But, if we could somehow go back to that period in time, I think we'd be disappointed with ourselves. The fun was in self discovery as much as anything. Losing that fun might be the price of wisdom.
